Insomnia Strikes Back
I’ve been so damn tired lately. I increased my running mileage slightly but not enough to warrant a major change in how much sleep I need. Maybe it’s all the hours I’ve been putting into my new portfolio site. I have no clue…
But here I am now at 4:00am and wide awake. I can never predict how I’m going to handle sleep for any given week.

NFL Betting Strategies--early on
Bet against the Rams until the rest of the world realizes how stupidly bad they still are. There should be a few weeks of hype-lag influencing the line, right?
You could probably apply the same angle to the Dolphins, a perennial loser with a perennial loser at the helm, Chad Pennington. But will the betting world be rational when they evaluate the Dolphins? Probably not.
Will the Jets, armed with Brett Favre and a complement of off season acquisitions, be better than last year? Yes. But will they be better than the lines suggest? No clue but I’ll probably bet against them in the first few weeks to see.
What else? Oh yeah, the Raiders. “They look ready to finally break out this year!” I hear that every preseason. Yeah, they have a legitimately golden RB prospect but who the hell cares. Without an O-line in the NFL, even the greats look like shit. I’m betting against the Raiders too.

It’s been a really busy couple of weeks over here. Since submitting two proposals last week, I’ve really been busting my ass on two things.
- New Business Cards
- New Portfolio Website
The Business Cards arrived today and they look pretty spiffy. I used Shinebox Print and they did a nice job. I was happy with the color and the trim for the most part. Once I start handing these babies out, I’ll be getting offers to serve as mayor of any number of small towns in the third world.
My new website is coming along nicely too. I’ve spent countless hours lately trying to revamp this thing to go along with my new focus as a web designer + developer instead of a graphic designer who happens to do everything. We’ll see how this focus works. It’s part of a broader initiative that I’ll be launching later this week.
Anyway, the point is this—I’ve been so busy lately that I’ve forgone poker for like two weeks. That’s unheard of. And preposterous. Once my new site launches, I’ll be back to filling your dashboard (if you follow me) or your screen with useless shit to help pass the next 30 seconds of your life.
