Awesome website for exploring new music. I just rediscovered it tonight and am enjoying some new groups in unexplored genres. Good stuff.

Any old school Metal Marines fans out there? I wonder if this download works. Gonna test it out. If not, it’s back to poker.

Health Care
Maybe it’s not such a novel idea to incentivize people to get healthy. In the past year(plus), I have joined the club that thinks prevention is better than cure. I am tired of slothful people bitching about their problems. I am tired of the health-related problems afflicting this country. I hope this next generation makes an effort to incorporate exercise and moderate eating habits into...

McG and I were talking about this the other day. It’s nice to see a directory for Tumblogs so I can add to my friendly blog portal.
Vagabond
I am thinking of buying a one-way ticket to Ireland and hitting the country side. Fares are incredibly cheap this time of year. I could fly to Dublin from Chicago nonstop for less than $250. I might try somewhere new though. I just don’t know where.
Just a heads up...
Try not to sneeze and pee at the same time. It’s risky.
Comments Enabled
Per the request of several and my own desire, I have integrated a comment system. It’s called DISQUS. I don’t know how it’ll work but at least people can now comment. You can post anonymously but I have to approve those comments. Spam can be a real problem on these blogs so just register and save us both the effort in the future. In other news, I start my 13-week triathlon...

Chicken Vindaloo
I took a cooking class last night at the Kitchen Conservatory called Aromatic India. Sarah enrolled me in the class as a birthday present. She continues to deliver on the sweet presents (last year I went to a shooting range). There were 12 people in the class, including one sorority-type ultra blond wearing a chef’s smock and a middle-aged man with an earring who never shut his mouth,...

Getting Exotic
I am officially addicted to fresh mangos. It’s not easy to find a perfectly ripe mango in St. Louis in January but I came across one at the store today. It was fantastic. Especially after some extra-spicy chili for lunch.
Beard Buster
Armed with a Mach 3 and some Barbasol Beard Buster, Weasel shaved his beard last night at a South County bar. Given that it was South County, it only seemed appropriate that he wear nothing but a Doc Holiday mustache and patch. Props.
Cheating the Poker Gods
McGinnis and I played the 1/3NL game at Lumiere last night. I sat with my the maximum stack of $300. I’ll spare you play-by-plays on hands that led to me sitting on $750 a few hours later but I’ll say that I didn’t lose a showdown (except the one hand McG won). I was destroying this table in every sense. Not only did I extract maximum value from strong hands but I also made a two...

I hate screaming toddlers
I can tolerate a screaming baby, briefly. I do not, however, tolerate a screaming toddler; especially while two fat parents stare blankly at the wall while stuffing their faces with food. Discipline your god damn child!

Poker, work, poker, poker, Pepsi One
Which do you prefer — Coke or Pepsi? I have always been a Pepsi fan. Since I quit drinking regular soda about a year ago, I’ve been relegated to Coke Zero and Diet Dr. Pepper. After a few weeks of drinking Coke Zero, I started to get really sick to stomach every day. Diet Dr. Pepper is a preferable alternative and I have gone through tons of it in the past few months. I recently...

Wicked Chicken Soft Tacos
I’ve been working on a homebrew recipe for the past month or so and I may have just hit the sweet spot tonight. These chicken soft tacos are wicked because of the jalapenos and red peppers. They are also sweet because of the brown sugar. Here’s the breakdown: Chop 1 large onion, mince 3 cloves of garlic and toss into a large pan with some kosher salt, fresh cracked pepper, and olive...

It's my birthday!
I’m 27 today. I feel really old. Last night I even participated in something of a dinner party. I’m basically knocking on death’s door.
Anchor apologizes for 'lynch' Tiger remark →
What kind of moron do you have to be to make a remark like this? Even without the context of a black individual, this is a terrible thing to say. In the context of the world’s most famous golfer (who happens to be black), this is one of the most bone-headed comments an announcer could make. You only accidentally make remarks like this if you’re a racist who recognizes the social stigma...
Iranian ships 'harass' U.S. Navy, officials say →
That’s hilarious. The only harassment an Iranian naval vessel could offer is sexual. And we’d dispatch Chris Hansen to resolve that issue swiftly.

Two Quick Thoughts
Don’t go see One Missed Call. Not that you were going to (or that it was my idea) but that movie is beyond horrible. Don’t go to Agave. The food is overpriced, underseasoned, and, in some cases, really stupid. Even their churros were a letdown. Nothing else is going on really. I turn 27 on Wednesday but that’s about it. My parents got me a really nice brown leather...

I think I'm in love with Coda
Don’t get me wrong; I love my girlfriend. But I am also starting to fall in love with a CSS/HTML/PHP/JS+FTP authoring application called Coda. It’s another beautiful Mac app brough to you by the fine people at Panic, makers of the fantastic FTP Transmit. If there are any web developers out there reading this, go get Coda. It’s awesome.
You want to go to Africa?
You know what is really annoying — hearing professional athletes and hip-hop stars say they want to go visit Africa. I’ve never heard anyone specifically say which country they want to visit, or from which ethnic region their family comes. Africa is a huge continent. It has a lot of countries. Saying they want to go to Africa is hilarious to me. I know where my family comes from and...
