Truth.
There are few things as delicious as pastrami and cheddar on a toasted bagel. What did you have for lunch?

We still don't get it
patrickmcginnis: On NPR they were discussing California’s budget problems, specifically they would begin delaying payments. They were getting citizen reactions, here were two 1) Guy owned a telecommunications company with the State of California generating 50% of the revenue, “I don’t know, my only choice is to lay people off or get new clients or go out of business” Forget that those are...

(via patrickmcginnis) That’s hilarious. “You’re gonna have an exciting life!” <strawberry glints for some reason>

If you live above someone, is it polite to put a subwoofer on your hardwood floor and play horrible music all day?

Super Bowl Betting
Okay, I’ve placed some wagers on the big game after thinking about all the components (I’ve probably missed several, of course). Anyway, for better or worse, here are my bets: Arizona +7 (-115) Under 47 (-115) Willie Parker MVP 5/1 Santonio Holmes MVP 12/1 I picked those particular MVPs because I think it presents a nice hedge to my other bets. Hines Ward is probably not going to...

This is hilarious. I bet a lot of people will fall for this garbage. Listen, if someone is offering you a magic secret to make money, it’s not real. If it were real, they’d be using it to make a sick amount of money.

More horrible commercials.
Olive Garden commercials make me want to commit suicide. Right after I murder the guys who came up with their current campaign.

Half Marathon Training
Today marks the first week of half marathon training for mid-April. Of course this is one of the colder weeks St. Louis has had all winter. Tonight I got to stay inside and do stretches and a little strengthening but tomorrow, when we’re due to have snow and ice, I have to run. I’m not running on a treadmill either. Fuck it. One might suggest that I just wait a week and start next...

Superbowl Betting
I guessed that the Superbowl line was going to be Steeleres -6 after they dispatched the Ravens last weekend. My gut has been telling me to go with the Cardinals who are now getting a full 7 points. What do you think? (Honestly, I’m not going to listen to your argument unless you’re Barrister, Josh, or Akins. And Akins just loves crazy parlay action.)

Happiness through cast iron
When I’m incredibly busy and stressed out I find that my favorite part of the day is making dinner and listening traditional Irish music. Tonight I’m having breaded pork chops, with Italian bread crumbs and parmesan, a baked potato, and some blanched green beans. It smells pretty good in here.

Southern Hospitality
skateboarda: I find the kindness, care and altruistic graciousness that people from the South exemplify to be unmatched. I honestly wish we had more of it through out America. I’ve been to Atlanta approximately 20 times in the past 2 and a half years. Most people from Atlanta (born and raised, not outside Atlanta) are really cool. Yeah, people drive like the biggest assholes on the planet...

Growing Up
Starting a business, like really starting a business and not playing business, is a lot of work and takes a ton of emotional energy. My iCal has become my best friend (Barrister, Josh, and Akins are all dead to me)—it’s more full than it has ever been. I have deadlines every day. I’ve never had so many deadlines. Usually I had one or two projects going at the same time, each...

Lefties Unite!
I didn’t realize Obama was left handed until he signed his first presidential “politics papers” (tm) (from the makers of “business papers” (tm)). That’s pretty cool. I finally feel represented in the highest level of politics by one of my own kind! No more oppression!
